The "How to get started" page is not useful for my config. I have a Raspberry Pi 4 running Raspberry Pi OS and the "join" page at https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/join.php does not seem to work for it. The download link takes me to page https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php which has a download link to "linux x86" which is not my configuration. If I click on it anyway, I get a page with url of https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.4.22_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh which contains a #!/bin/sh script and a lot of binary junk after 3 text lines of correct looking script. The page tab shows the rolling donut progress indicator as if something is happening. I left it "running" over night but nothing happened. I see from a boinc page that I can install boinc from command line, which I did with no problems. However there is no info on how to associate with a project (eg. Rosetta@home). If I go back to the Rosetta@home page to try to get things set up, it insists on me going to the nonsense page I just described in the previous paragraph. The "create account" page likewise wants me to go to the same nonsense page. I created an account the "wrong way" so that I could enter this message. For Raspberry Pi/linux, the "getting started" web page is nonsense. How do I really get started? |

I believe you would have to use the BOINC command interface to atach a project. Your question will get more views if you post to the Number Crunching board, where there are also some rPi threads. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
